UKHSA has not been as complete over the period 1980 to 2010 as it was for the civil nuclear industry . It is seen that average doses from nuclear and technology services and radionuclide production have decreased since 1983 .
Defence Sector A number of occupationally exposed Army , Royal Navy and Royal Air Force personnel , alongside civilian contractors and staff , are monitored . The graph shows that the average
dose in the defence sector has fallen considerably , with a particularly dramatic reduction between the late 1980s and the late 1990s .
